I can't get on, but can you let me know what kind of time your OPPO-Am is running at Laguna Seca if you have time? I've got a '69 Camaro I'm running 1:39s with, haven't put too much time into the setup but it feels pretty good. Plus, I painted it like Rowdy Burns' Exxon car from Days of Thunder. So there's that.

Wicked. I also have high hopes for a '65 Mustang, but it's really light and the wheel base is super short so it's tricky. Honestly, I've built like 7 of them and they're all within about a second. Doesn't seem to be any bad choices.

Cougar was good, I got in the 1:41s with it, but I didn't even get to play with the gearing or suspension. Probably the most consistently easy to drive car I built. Challenger sucked, almost too much power, hard to keep it in a straight line with a Xbox controller.

Raced 'em both in '70. Though I suspect it would handle better in game if you could swap the Hemi for a small block.

Any races planned between Dec 18 and Jan 3? I'll be home then and will be able to make a one off appearance in either the Gulf McLaren or build something for Oppo-Am. Got a link to the technical regs for Oppo-Am? Had no luck finding anything.

The Oppo-Am series starts the 27th with the B450 race followed by the bigger cars the Saturday after. Here's the link to the series page, I just haven't made it public yet to keep the comment threads uncluttered until the season actually starts.

We were all within the 1:38-1:40 range when we ran a test session a few weeks ago so you're right there with us. Really any of the cars are good picks, I've built all 29 options and they're all within a second or so of each other. We've also decided to run a smaller B450 series the preceding Saturdays and the Corvair's an option if you wanna get in on that, too.

Dude, the B450 cars are actually a lot more fun than you think. We all thought they were kinda lame too but the racing actually turned out to be super competitive. At least join a practice lobby or something before you decide not to.

It would only be one race I could attend anyway. The Gulf McLaren probably won't be at the 24 Laps of Le Mans this year.

What exactly was up with your Xbox? Wrath said your Live was blocked or something, can't you just call Microsoft and bitch until they fix it? All the Trans-Am races we've run so far have been epic (so much closer than the GT cars) and we'd always like to have more people join.

Forza has a really shitty anti-cheating system, where if you've played Forza 4 under one gamertag on multiple Xboxs it bans you. I'd prefer to NOT get banned from what I still consider the premier racing game.

I posted a topic in the Forza forums to see if that's actually true.

If I can race, I'm not sure what I'd want to race either. The car I was interested in using isn't American or made before 1973 lol.

Dude, I switch Xboxes all the time and haven't been banned. I don't know what other people did but I just have all my crap on a flash drive, GT, DLC, saved game, whatever and it's been totally fine the three years I've lived in my apartment. What car were you wanting to use? We can test it and if it's fair we might allow it.

Hmm... did not consider that an option. I can test it tonight and see how it stacks up, but like I was telling Kamp we were wanting to keep the series somewhat homogenous so we'll have to see. Either way at least give the Trans-Am cars a chance during a test session or whatever, they're a shit-ton of fun to drive, especially since the racing's as close as it is. We ran a few laps of Laguna Seca after the RA points race and the top four dudes were within .2 seconds of each other per lap and everyone was within a second of that.
